The Polestar Touring Company

The Polestar Touring Company showcases an original musical production throughout the academic year. The production emphasizes character development and critical social issues kids face today. The Company will open a production in September that will tour at local schools and perform at events and conventions throughout the school year. The performance will segue into a question and answer dialogue led by the student cast with audience members, which will further the audiences understanding and appreciation of the issues the show presents.

How the Company Works

The Polestar Lifetime Learning Foundation will select 12-16 young performers between the ages of 9 to 18 in April to become the company for the following academic year. During part of the summer, this cast will rehearse a new musical and train in question and answer dialogue techniques for the post show discussions. During the academic year the touring company will perform its musical at local schools and events.

Requirements

Company participants must be at least 9 years of age, maintain excellence in their academic work, and remain in good standing with their family and community.
